One of the things I love about natural hair is its versatility. There are many different options when it comes to styling natural hair, and a silk press is one of them. As you may or may not know, the silk press is a pretty popular styling technique.
A silk press is simply a modern-day press and curl.
We all like to spend as little time as possible styling our hair each day. With cooler temperatures in full swing, protective styles can offer you a stylish look as well as protection from the elements. No matter the length or texture of your hair, you can wear a protective style.
Now that my hair is starting to grow out, I have been looking for different ways to style my hair. Most days I wear a ‘fro or I will pull it up into a puff. I have gotten a little bored with those two styles and want to try something different. Being that my hair is at a bit of an awkward length, it is hard to find styles suitable for my hair.
I have used the sponge method to add curls to my hair on many occasions. I am currently wearing my hair in a TWA. It is in that awkward in-between phase because I am letting it grow out. When styling my hair I typically do a wash and go. There are times when I want to add a little more curl definition to my hair. I usually twist my hair at night and after untwisting it and picking it out a bit, I am good to go. Since it has grown a bit, I don’t do wash and go’s as often.
