Pamper Your Skin With Honey

Are you looking to nourish and pamper your skin? Try honey! Not only is this sweet treat good for food, but honey is great for moisturizing the skin. Studies have shown (read here)  that honey contains both antioxidant and antibacterial properties.  The antibacterial benefits of honey are great for helping to treat and prevent acne.  Its antioxidant properties help to slow the aging process.

When you infuse honey into everyday beauty or hair products, it’s a great way to moisturize and pamper your hair and skin all while creating a healthy glow.

Not only do I love it in my tea, but I use honey as a skin moisturizer also. I pamper my skin often with honey and milk baths. You can make your own bath soak by taking ½ cup of honey that has been warmed in the microwave and adding it to 2 cups of milk.  Stir together and add mixture to a warm bath and soak until your heart is content.

Honey also makes a great acne treatment. I use it to treat my occasional acne flare-ups.  I take a clean cotton swab and dab a bit of raw honey onto my breakouts.  After it sits for about 10 minutes, I rinse with warm water.

There are a number of other ways you can use honey as a beauty treatment.  It can be used as a facial cleanser and an exfoliant.  You can also use it to condition your hair.

Aside from DIY treatments, I love beauty products that are infused with honey.  Here are some of my favorites:

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Soothing & Restoring Body Lotion

Farmacy Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey Bath

Hey Honey Facial Scrub
