CREME OF NATURE ARGAN OIL REVIEW

I have a long relationship with Creme of Nature hair products, as they were one of my favorite hair care product lines back when I was addicted to the “creamy crack.”  When shopping for natural hair products, I would tend to overlook this particular line.  I think I skipped over them because I was used to using their products on my relaxed hair, and didn’t think I could achieve satisfactory results with my natural hair.  After seeing several naturalista’s on my Instagram feed speaking positively about Creme of Nature Argan Oil, I decided I would give them a try.

CREME OF NATURE ARGAN OIL PRODUCTS

I spent quite a bit of time on the aisle looking over their assortment of products.  I finally settled on the Intensive Conditioning Treatment, Strength and Shine Leave-In Conditioner and Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme.

What does the product promise to do?  Take your curls on an exotic journey with our amazing curl-enhancing formulas designed for curls, coils, kinks, and waves. No frizz. No shrinkage. No dryness.

HOW TO USE:

INTENSIVE CONDITIONING TREATMENT

After shampooing with Creme of Nature® Shampoo, apply a generous amount of  Intensive Conditioning Treatment to hair and comb through for even distribution. Place a plastic cap over the hair and sit under a warm hooded dryer for 10–15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and follow with any Creme of Nature Argan Oil styling product.

PUDDING PERFECTION CURL ENHANCING CREME

Scoop a liberal amount of Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme into your hand and smooth downward on small sections of damp hair using fingertips. Then twist, shingle, coil or wash and go. Do not rinse. Air dry or diffuse. For curl elongation, use a blow dryer with a nozzle attachment on fully dried hair and direct heat from roots to mid-shaft.

SMELL

This line has a strong flowery type smell to it.  The smell however, is not unbearable.

CONSISTENCY

The Intensive Conditioning Treatment has a yogurt like consistency to it.  It is not runny at all.  The Pudding Perfection Creme has a thick, pudding like consistency.

SLIP

This product line provides a great slip when applied to the hair.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

I used these products as a part of my wash and go process. I started with freshly shampooed hair. I then conditioned my hair with the Creme of Nature Intensive Conditioning Treatment. I allowed it to sit on my hair for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, I  rinsed my hair thoroughly.

I then completely saturated my hair with the Creme of Nature Strength and Shine Leave-In Conditioner.

Lastly I applied the Creme of Nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme to my hair in small sections at a time.  Afterwards, I let my hair completely air dry.

RESULTS

Intensive Conditioning Treatment  This conditioner made my hair feel very soft and did a good job of detangling my hair.

Strength and Shine Leave In Conditioner  I didn’t feel that my hair was quite as moisturized using this spray conditioner as it is when I use a cream conditioner.

Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme did a good job of defining my curls. This creme leaves a soft hold, which I love and I did not experience any flaking.

I was pretty impressed with this line and will be using it for future wash and go’s. My hair feels very soft, and has a nice sheen to it.  The Pudding Perfection gives my hair a nice hold without the crunchiness or flakiness that I tend to experience when using gels. I am definitely adding this to my hair care arsenal. The only thing I will be changing is the leave in conditioner. I prefer a cream, as I believe a cream does a better job of moisturizing my hair, as opposed to a spray.

EDEN BODYWORKS NATURAL PUDDING SOUFFLE REVIEW

I was excited to give this product a try because I’d heard so many great reviews on it.

I was excited to give this Eden BodyWorks Natural Pudding Souffle a try because I’d heard so many great reviews on it.  I decided that I would use this as a part of my wash and go routine.  I purchased this pudding souffle at my local Wal-Mart for about $8.

The description states that it “adds moisture to dry, thirsty tresses using an exotic blend of all natural ingredients formulated to reduce frizz, enhance textured styles and provide a soft, shiny finish.” Before applying the souffle, I shampooed my hair with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo and  conditioned with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner.  I did not rinse out my conditioner.

While my hair was damp, I applied a small amount of coconut oil to my hair, and then I applied the Eden Body Works Natural Pudding Souffle. This product is very thick in consistency. It also has a nice, but very light coconut smell to it.  During the application process, the product felt very sticky to me.  I applied a good bit of the product to my hair completely from root to tip. I then allowed my hair to air dry.

After my hair was completely dry, I noticed white flakes on top of my hair.  My hair was also extremely dry.  The only pro was that my curls were nicely defined. It did not give me the results that I was expecting, so I was a bit disappointed.  The directions did state “for best results, use with Coconut Shea Leave in Conditioner.”  I don’t know if that would have made a difference, or not. I haven’t completely given up on this product.  I am going to try the full line of Eden Body Works products (shampoo and conditioner) along with the pudding souffle to see if I can achieve better results.
